Presenting Charm Charm Chicken-Our Favorite Fried Chicken

Charm Charm Chicken

We have been talking a lot about fried chicken lately, and honestly, if you are coming to Korea you are a fool if you don’t try their fried chicken! Today we will present our favorite fried chicken in Korea. Charm Charm Chicken is a mom and pop run franchise in Korea that specializes only in affordable take-away chicken boxes.

This hole-in-a-wall type of place only cost 8,500 KRW (~$8.50) for an 8 piece box of chicken bliss. It was love at first taste. This was one of Scott’s first meals in Korea and he introduced it to me in my early days in Korea as well. We both fell in love with the juicy, white meat chicken. The chicken is breaded with a simple but delicious breading that has a small kick of spice that lingers on your taste buds for moments after.

Charm Charm also offers a spicy chicken, but we strongly recommend getting plain due to the seasoning in the breading. That is hard to say because we both love spicy foods, but take our word and try the plain!

There are a handful of locations near Seoul. We were lucky enough to have one directly across the street from our old apartment in the small area of Eunpyeong-gu. Now that we live 20 minutes away, we will make a trip just to buy this chicken and eat outside of a 7-eleven with a store bought beer and enjoy our foodgasms.

Everytime we eat at another fried chicken restaurant we are impressed, but always say nothing beats Charm Charm.
