Huntington Beach, AKA Surf City, is the best beach in the U.S. according to Times Magazine. It’s also what I call home.
Even though I have been living abroad and traveling for over two years now, I’ve always envisioned one day moving back to my home town and growing old. Insert some cheesy nostalgia joke.
The truth is the more and more I travel and see the world, the more my love for the city grows.
In this video (made up of 6,638 raw photos) I share with you what it’s like to spend a day in Huntington Beach.
Background Behind the Video
When I was living in Korea I was inspired by some amazing photographers and started photography as a hobby hoping to learn how to take photos for my future home, (in Huntington Beach of course) to remind me of my journey.
One day inspiration hit when I watched a hyper-lapse video called “Enter Pyeongyang,” by Rob Whitworth. Being completely new to photography, I hadn’t ever really known anything about time-lapse photography, let alone hyper-lapse photography. But instantly, I became obsessed with the idea because it allowed me to share how I saw a place.
Since then I have been practicing with the hopes of one day making a job out of it. This is my second attempt. I still have a lot of work to do to get better, but want to share with you the city I was so lucky to grow up in. Huntington Beach, aka Surf City USA.
P.S. I am from surf city U.S.A. but I don’t really know how to surf.
