So the day we have been anticipating for awhile has arrived, we just received our photos from our Ohio wedding and DAYUM do they look good! For those of you who haven’t been following along the past few months Scott and I are from opposite coasts in the US, so instead of making one family come to the other we decided to do two small intimate family only weddings, one in each of our hometowns, and finally one trip to Las Vegas to celebrate with friends only.
If you want to see our California beach wedding check our post here.
Since Scott is a photographer and we both admire excellent photography it was really important to us to find the perfect person to capture our wedding day. We searched high and low and kept going back to the same guys at Style & Story Creative from Columbus, Ohio.
Honestly, no one else’s work really could compare to theirs and we had to have them. On a skype call with our head photographer Ben (and Stephen) we told him they shouldn’t be called photographers, they should be called artists because we were so over the moon with how they captured the day.
Anyways, back to the wedding day. I could go on forever why we loved our photographers.
Our wedding took place at my parent’s farm in rural Ohio. We got married in the upstairs of the same barn that I used to raise pigs, cows, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs, and even a rescue Canadian goose. I grew up as a little farm girl believe it or not!
My parent’s property also has a cabin in the woods that my dad and two grandpas built when I was just a few years old and a Christmas tree farm across the house that we used for more photo locations.
Scott and I got ready and took our first photos at my grandpa’s house across the road (which pretty my only my family lives on) which was full of fun photo opportunities since the house is pretty much preserved from the 1960s when my great grandpa used to live in there and decorated the place.
My talented mother is also a professional Christmas decorator and my parents are avid antique collectors. This made for the perfect Pinterest wedding without having to go out and buy anything or rent a place out for the day.
We had the perfect venue right at my childhood house where my parents still live which made the day that more special. This is the place I grew up, this is the place that my family has had for three generations, and this is the place where every small detail had a sentimental value to my family and now Scott.
People pay a lot of money to create something like this, and this is something we were lucky enough to already have.
Every detail, every touch was perfection.
So without further ado, we are going to share with all of you our special day in Ohio.
