Also known as Prague 2, this neighborhood was once where all the vineyards used to be and is now a trendy neighborhood with gorgeous art deco architecture. There are great cafes, nightclubs, and international cuisine that can be found here as well as one of the city’s best beer gardens.

Home to the world’s 2nd ugliest building, Zizkov Tower, Zizkov is actually one of our favorite neighborhoods in the city we discovered on our most recent trip. This is where to stay in Prague if you want to find some more great, lesser-known attractions while still being pretty close to Old Town. Also, known as Prague 3, Zizkov is a lively neighborhood that attracts students and young adults for its nightlife.

Zizkov is where to stay in Prague if you want another more residential neighborhood but still a close distance to the heart of the city. This is also another trendy neighborhood full of hip spots, despite being home to the world’s 2nd ugliest building. This is also where to stay in Prague if you’re looking for a great nightlife scene.

Nearby Attractions

Zizkov shares Riegrovy Sady Beer Garden with Vinohrady which offers a great view, there’s also the ugly Zizkov Tower which shouldn’t be judged by just the outside, inside of the tower is a posh and swanky bar offering killer views of Prague, there’s also mini golf here at the base of the tower, and the New Jewish Cemetery where Franz Kafka is buried. If you like cool buildings you may want to check out the iconic Akropolis Theater while you’re at it.

Recommended Hotel

We’re giving two options here because one is just too insanely cool to not include.

The One Room Hotel is located inside the Zizkov TV Tower for an unforgettable experience. The hotel says it in its name, they only have one room. This high-end experience offers a luxury room with what might be arguably the best hotel room view of Prague.

The best part would have to be the rooms with sitting areas featuring beautiful views of Prague centrally located in Zizkov. There’s also a sauna that the guests can use and a beautiful ballroom.

Letna

Also known as Prague 7, Letna is a cool neighborhood that offeres killer views of Old Town from the opposite side of the Vltava River. This neighborhood has an amazing park and beer garden that draws the younger local crowd in the evenings. There’s a great food scene here and of course views.

Letna is where to stay in Prague if you’re looking for a more quiet location that doesn’t sacrifice distance from such tourist sites like Prague Castle. This is a great neighborhood to stay in if you also like nightlife.

Staying in Letna means you’re on the same side of the river as Prague Castle and not too far away. Although, Letna itself offers one of the best views of the city from Letenske Sady, and amazing beer garden with a view at Letna Beer Garden, and the Metronome Monument.

These individual apartments are more than a hotel and besides being removed from the crowds, you’re actually only a 15-minute walk from Old Town. Karlin

Once an industrial neighborhood, now a trendy and up and coming spot in Prague Karlin is becoming the new ‘it’ spot in the city. Also known as Prague 8, you can find beautiful art nouveau architecture, old factories turned into cool restaurants, cafes, and galleries.

This is where to stay in Prague if you love the art and food scene. This is also a great location right along the Vltava River close to Old Town. This is a trendy neighborhood that also has great nightlife.

You’re not far from Old Town and New Town in Karlin. But Karlin itself offers a cool beer garden in Karlin Studios, galleries, wine bars, nightclubs, trendy restaurants, Lykcovo Namesti Square, Karlin Musical Theater, Forum Karlin a popular music venue, and St. Cyril and Methodius Church.

Four Trees Prague is a great option for the Karlin neighborhood. The rooms are eco-friendly apartment style decked out in modern chic decor. This is where to stay in Prague if you’re looking for a more quiet, removed area in the city without sacrificing convenience. You’re still close to Old Town by public transport or even by foot.

Located right on the Vltava you can’t help but admire the views from here. The highlight attraction would be the Vysrehrad castle where you get the beauty of a castle without the crowds and stunning views. There’s also the fortress walls, the gorgeous gothic Basilica of St. Peter & St. Paul, and the stunning cemetery where famous composers, artists, and writers rest.

The King Charles Boutique Residence is fitting for Vysehrad because you feel like you’ve gone back in time. This unique hotel is set in a building from the 1910s and is decked out in retro decor making you feel like you’ve gone back in time and are royalty with opulent touches and antique old world style furniture.
